I am a chronic migraine sufferer. I personally choose a non-pharmaceutical approach for pain management whenever possible. Massage and yoga have been great tools in managing my own pain levels.
I worked for nearly a decade as a Graphic Designer. Around year 6 or 7, I had a sinking feeling that life behind a desk would not keep me happy forever. I started saving money and researching careers in healthcare.
A career in massage is something I thought about for a couple of years, until I was assigned a new role at my Graphic Design job. This new role meant I now spent most of my day entering data into spreadsheets. This was not acceptable and I could no longer be stagnant.
I enrolled at Western Technical College and was put on the waiting list for the Therapeutic Massage program, expecting to wait a year to begin classes. The stars aligned and I got a call that week saying a spot opened up in the program, but I only had a few days to decide. It took me less than 24 hours to figure out how to make it happen and the rest is history.
In my free time I enjoy painting, reading, puzzles, coloring, hiking, yoga and spending time with my husband Chris and our animal menagerie.
